Sea Captains Torpedoed by Generals

Oct 24, 2021

The Norwich Sea Captains continue to be stuck in first gear, dropping a 3-1 decision to the Northeast Generals on the road Friday night in North American 3 Hockey League action.

The Sea Captains defense was tested early in front of starting goaltender Brendan Pellerito, surrendering 19 shots on goal in the first period. It took nearly the entire period, but the Generals finally broke through with 1:27 to go with Ayden Frolik’s fifth goal of the season.

Things would not improve for Norwich in the second, giving up 31 shots on goal along with a pair of Northeast goals to head into the second intermission trailing 3-0.

The Sea Captains would mount their best offensive efforts in the third period in an attempt to hand the Generals their first loss of the season. With 1:12 to go in regulation, Harrison Ranger scored his first goal in the NA3HL, assisted by Jack Kinahan and Drew Schemmel, but it would not be enough as the Norwich comeback fell short.

Pellerito was honored with the third star of the game, stopping 74 of 77 Northeast shots on goal, a franchise record.

The Sea Captains have the rest of the weekend off, and will look to rebound against the New Jersey Titans as they make their first trip to the RoseGarden Ice Arena. Faceoff is scheduled for 12:00 PM on Friday, October 29th. Tickets are available by clicking HERE.
