Sea Captains Drop One to Long Beach

Oct 6, 2021

The Norwich Sea Captains fell to the Long Beach Sharks 5-0 Sunday morning, October 3 at the Long Beach Municipal Arena in North American 3 Hockey League action. Goaltender Alex Tsymbalyuk made 42 saves and was outstanding in net, but the offense never got on track in the loss.

Head coach Kevin Cunningham assessed his team’s effort saying, “We did not do enough hard things to earn a result that we would be happy with today. Full credit to the Sharks for taking advantage of our sloppy play. There were some encouraging signs as well; I was really pleased to see Alex (Tsymbalyuk) play so well in his first back-to-back opportunity and I though that two of our younger players, Tony Morran and Josh Manahan, really competed hard today and took some steps forward in their development.”

The Sea Captains return to the RoseGarden Ice Arena this Friday afternoon, October 8 when they meet the Northeast Generals for the first time this season. The puck will drop at noon on Friday. We are still looking for gameday staff for our remaining home games. If you like watching hockey and you want to make a few bucks while doing so reach out to Coach Cunningham at (973) 224-3492 or kevincunningham4@hotmail.com for further information about joining our gameday staff.
