Sea Captains Blanked by Blizzard

Dec 24, 2022

The Norwich Sea Captains fell to the Alexandria Blizzard by a score of 10-0 in their second game of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) Showcase in Blaine, MN on Monday, December 19. Brendan Pellerito played well in the Norwich net despite the score. The veteran goaltender made 59 saves, including a few of the highlight reel variety. The Blizzard specialty teams played a key role in the game as their power play connected for three goals on three attempts and their penalty kill went a perfect seven for seven.

Despite the loss Sea Captains Head Coach Kevin Cunningham had some positive words for his team. “We strayed from our identity in the second period and Alexandria, which is a very strong team, made us pay. The continued fight and camaraderie that we displayed in the third period made me extremely proud to coach this team. Every season has ups and downs, Every team need to grow and learn. Sometimes that growth hurts and the lessons sting, but I truly believe that this group is tough enough and loves each other enough to persevere and continue to develop through the entire season,” said Cunningham.
