The Norwich Sea Captains are pleased to announce their November Players of the Month presented by Joshua’s Worldwide.
Forward
Sava Makarenko (2003 / Yorktown Heights, NY) – The Sea Captains rookie forward had a strong month of November netting three goals and adding four assists to total seven points in only five games. He was also plus five on the month. His two multipoint efforts came in back-to-back wins over the NA3HL East Division leading Northeast Generals on November 12 and 20. Makarenko assisted on two Norwich tallies in November 12’s 3-1 win, including a helper on the game winning goal. He assisted on the game-winner on November 20 as well and added a late insurance goal to seal the 5-2 win for good measure.
Defenseman
Sean Loftus (2002 / South Boston, MA) – Norwich’s captain was a key member of the defensive corps in a 3-2 month for the Sea Captains. He helped anchor the defense in a 4-0 win over the Bay State Bobcats on November 4 before helping his team hold the Northeast Generals to three combined goals in two Norwich wins, 3-1 on November 12 and 5-2 on November 20. He also buried an empty net goal in the final minute to seal the 3-1 win on November 12, Norwich’s first over the Generals in team history.
Goaltender
Brendan Pellerito (2002 / Kalamazoo, MI) – Pellerito had an outstanding month in the Norwich net. He recorded a perfect 3-0 record in three starts while posting a 1.00 goals against average and a .969 save percentage. He started the month by shutting out the Bay State Bobcats 4-0 on November 4 recording 20 saves in the game. Then on November 12 he turned aside 35 Northeast Generals shots in a 3-1 over the NA3HL East Division leaders. Finally, Pellerito made 39 saves to best the Generals again on November 20, this time by a score of 5-2.
