The Norwich Sea Captains are pleased to announce their March Players of the Month presented by Joshuaâs Worldwide.
Forward
Jack Kinahan (2002 / Stamford, CT) – Kinahan netted three goals and added a helper to total four points in five March games. On March 3 he scored the game-winner in overtime as Norwich bested the New Jersey Titans 2-1. Kinahan factored in on all three goals in the Sea Captains 3-1 win over the Danbury Jr Hat Trick in game two of the NA3HL East Division Semifinals on March 10. He assisted on the game’s first goal before scoring the game-winner and an insurance goal, both on the power play, to lead Norwich to their first playoff victory in franchise history.
Defenseman
Tony Morran (2004 / Boca Raton, FL) – Morran recorded three points in five March games. His one goal and one assist performance paced the offensive attack as Norwich topped the New Jersey Titans 2-1 in overtime on March 3. Morran’s goal staked the Sea Captains to a 1-0 lead and his assist was on the game-winner in overtime. He assisted on Jack Kinahan’s power play tally to provide Norwich with a crucial insurance goal to help seal the first playoff win in franchise history, 3-1 over the Danbury Jr Hat Tricks on March 10.
Goaltender
Brendan Pellerito (2002 / Kalamazoo, MI) – Pellerito posted a 1-2 record in three March appearances, including a 1-1 record with a 2.03 goals against average and a .925 save percentage in two playoff games. On March 10 he turned aside 22 of 23 Danbury Jr Hat Tricks’ shots to earn a 3-1 win as Norwich secured the first playoff victory in franchise history.
