The Norwich Sea Captains are pleased to announce that the team has acquired forward Drew Schemmel from the Northeast Generals in exchange for a 2022 North American 3 Hockey League draft pick, 2022 tender and cash considerations. The Sidney, OH native is in his third full season in the NA3HL. He played for the Generals for each of the past two seasons appearing in 80 games tallying 19 goals and 19 assists for 38 points. Schemmel also played eight games for the Dayton Falcons during the 2017-18 season notching an assist. He also was a standout high school player for the Centerville High School Elks where he put up an astounding 213 points in 100 career games.
Schemmel is excited about the opportunities presented to him in Norwich. He commented, “I was very excited about the prospect of getting traded to Norwich and that excitement only increased when I saw the incredible support that our team gets from the community. Having a fantastic billet family that supports me and my teammates so enthusiastically helps the build the excitement even further. This season I am looking forward to continuing my development, both and and off the ice, and helping my teammates do the same. I am also looking forward to winning a lot of games!”

The Sea Captains will host the Long Beach Sharks on Saturday evening, October 16 at the RoseGarden Ice Arena. It will be an early Halloween celebration with all fans who come in costume getting FREE admission. For those not planning to wear their costumes tickets are available HERE.
