The Norwich Sea Captains are pleased to announce that 2002 goaltender Brendan Pellerito has signed with the club for their inaugural season in the North American 3 Hockey League. The Kalamazoo, MI native brings junior hockey experience with him to Norwich after spending the 2020-21 season with the Bozeman Ice Dogs in the NA3HL. He made five appearances and recorded a strong 2.57 goals against average and .919 save percentage in the wide open Frontier Division. Prior to his junior experience, Pellerito tended goal for the Mattawan Wildcats in the Michigan High School Athletic Association where he had a record of 12-8-2 during his senior season while registering a 1.99 goals against average and a .930 save percentage.

Pellerito elected to join the Sea Captains for their maiden voyage this fall after attending the team’s ID Camp in July. “I decided to play in Norwich this season because I believe that my experiences there will put me in the best position to advance to NCAA Division III hockey in the future,” said Pellerito.

“I was very impressed with Brendan’s presence in net, his athleticism and his compete level on the ice when I got to work with him at our camp. However, I am equally, if not more excited, to add a young man with his character and maturity to our roster. He is a triple threat; a talented goaltender, outstanding young man as well as a fantastic student. I am looking forward to working with Brendan and helping him get closer to his goal of playing college hockey,” said Sea Captains head coach Kevin Cunningham.

The Norwich Sea Captains will begin their first season in the NA3HL in September. The RoseGarden Ice Arena will serve as the team’s home arena for practices and home games. The team is currently running a season ticket giveaway promotion which fans can register for HERE.
