Dutcher Joins the Crew

Sep 9, 2022

The Norwich Sea Captains of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are pleased to announce the signing of 2003 forward Carson Dutcher. The Derby, KS native graduated from Derby (KS) High School in 2022. Dutcher played for the Wichita Junior Thunder Varsity High School Team. He was the team’s second leading scorer during his senior season chalking up 19 goals and 18 assists for 37 points in 22 games. The right-shot forward served as an alternate captain for his team, which won the Mid America High School Hockey League Championship last season.

Dutcher detailed his reasons for electing to head to Connecticut saying, “I chose to play in Norwich because of all the good things I had heard about the program. Being able to speak with Coach (Kevin) Cunningham at the CCM Showcase in May really helped me, and my family, with my decision. I am excited to be a part of the team and I am looking forward to my first year of junior hockey and seeing how much my game will develop throughout the season.”

“I am very happy that Carson has joined us here in Norwich. He is a skilled forward with an edge to his game. He understands how to create scoring chances for himself and his teammates and he will bring the accountability off the puck that our style of play demands. Carson is also a great kid who I know will be a positive addition to our locker room,” said Cunningham.

The Norwich Sea Captains will begin their second season of play in the NA3HL when they host the New Jersey Titans on Friday, September 23 and Saturday, September 24 at the RoseGarden Ice Arena. Season tickets are available HERE and individual tickets will go on sale Friday, September 9 at 2 PM.
