The Norwich Sea Captains of the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) are thrilled to announce that 2003 forward Jameson Bain has signed a contract to return to the team for the 2022-23 season. This will be Bain’s second season as a Sea Captain and third in the NA3HL after playing the 2020-21 season with the East Division rival Danbury Jr Hat Tricks. He has played 80 NA3HL games heading into this season. The Longmont, CO native appeared in 46 games during Norwich’s inaugural season. He tallied four goals and added four helpers to record eight points on the campaign. Bain had three multipoint games during the second half of the year. He had a goal and an assist in a 6-3 win over the Long Beach Sharks on January 17. His other two multipoint games were in Norwich losses; he netted two goals in a 8-5 loss against the New Jersey Titans on February 9 before dishing out two assists in a 6-2 loss to the Northeast Generals on March 1.
“I am excited to be returning to Norwich for a second season with the Sea Captains. I feel like I improved a lot last season and I am looking forward to continuing my development this year. I also expect our team to take some significant steps toward competing for a playoff spot and extending our season as long as possible,” said Bain about returning to Norwich.
Head Coach Kevin Cunningham added, “Jameson was a player that I was very happy to be able to acquire before out inaugural season. He has a true passion for the game and absolutely loves to compete. His development last season was a lot of fun to witness. I know that he had a tremendous off-season and that he is poised to have an even bigger impact on our team’s successes this year.”
The Sea Captains will begin their second NA3HL season in Norwich this weekend when their Opening Weekend presented by Concentric Care & Wellness kicks off with a 12 PM game against the New Jersey Titans on Friday, September 23 at the RoseGarden Ice Arena.
